Saint Augustine, Florida

Yesterday I went on a day trip with a friend to St. Augustine.  It is the oldest city in the nation and founded in 1565! It is about 2 1/2 hours away from Orlando but it was definitely worth the visit!  We left around 9:30am and didn't get back until 8pm.  Super fun day! We walked down brick roads and saw Spain styled architecture and a fort that was made to protect the Spanish colonies from threats from the Gulf.  I didn't take many pictures because I wore a dress and had no pockets to keep my phone but I got a picture of the reenactment of a cannon shot.

There was also a ton of shopping to do here and we also went to a wine tasting! I really haven't tried many wines and I found a couple that are pretty good and I wasn't expecting that so that's always a cool experience.  It was a really cool city and I want to go back before I leave Florida.  There is so much to do but not in one day :)

Toes (:

Yesterday, my roommates and I decided to go get pedicures.  My oh my it was amazing!  I have had a couple but this one out beat all the others.  I paid a little extra for the massage and a type of soak they did to make my feet nice and soft!  And I decided to get a design too!

Just another week in Florida :)

In the last week I have been enjoying the sun and the pool way too much on my days off.  I have been using sunscreen but I am still getting burnt left and right!  My skin just isn't ready for all this Florida sun! Well hopefully next time I go out I won't burn so badly.

On the bright side, I was told by my mom that I was accepted into the Northern Illinois University Early Childhood Program for the fall! I am super excited about that!! It means in just 2 years I will finally have my degree and be able to work with children! 6 year degree! But at least I am on track and all I have to worry about is keeping my grades up..which is nothing compared to the anxiety I had for if I was going to get into the program or not.  So that is awesome!

Last night, two of my roommates and I decided to go to the House of Blues.  It is a club type environment when they don't have bands playing there.  On Sundays, the college program students get in for free.  So we went and got our dance moves on :)  Let's just say it was fun but maybe I should keep my dancing behind closed doors :P

Laundry day? I had too much to carry so it had to go in the suitcase...

A rock you say?  Nope! this is a turtle!!! I have never seen a wild turtle! so cool to see on my way to the pool.

Port Orleans

Well this past week I was deployed (Disney terms for transferred) to Port Orleans Resort and worked in their food court.  The costume was a skirt and shirt which I will post at the end.  Everything seemed to be better organized since they served almost the same food as my resort but in different windows where my resort only has one window.  People were super nice there and made my deployment feel like home!  I already miss the people I worked with!!!
&Today, I went back to Gasparilla's, and as you know its Spring Forward..so we lost an hour of sleep but we gained more daylight at night.  But that being said...I worked until 10:15pm last night got home around 11:30, showered and was in bed by 12:15..only problem was I had work today at 6am.  That means I needed to be up by 4am..and with that hour lost I got 3 hours of sleep before an 8.5hr shift.  That was fun today....(sarcasm) :P  But now I am home and I've been relaxing the rainy day away.
